Financial Functions: Perform Point of Service (POS) collections and financial counseling functions as appropriate to secure payment obligations.
Documentation & Compliance: Select accurate medical records, provide proper patient instructions, and ensure all functions comply with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Technical Operations: Operate effectively using multiple computer systems and dual screens while performing duties.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Experience is required.
1-3 years of work experience, with at least 2 years in a healthcare-related position.
Required experience working with insurance companies and/or pre-authorizations.
Formal typing skills with a minimum of 35 WPM.
Must obtain the Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification within 6-9 months of hire.
Intermediate proficiency in MS applications (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
Ability to multitask and apply critical thinking skills while working individually.
Customer Service experience is highly preferred.

Customer Service Representative at Labcorp

What You’ll Do:
High-Volume Support: Work in a high call volume environment, averaging approximately 75 calls per day.
Financial & Billing Guidance: Provide assistance to clients and patients regarding inquiries related to insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and/or billing.

Healthcare Experience: Prior healthcare experience is strongly preferred, with a strong preference given to knowledge of professional medical billing and collection practices.
Technical & Billing Knowledge:
Ability to interpret and apply understanding of insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
Computer proficiency with MS Windows, MS Office, and database experience.
Knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes is highly preferred, as is experience with Laboratory Billing and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or XIFIN.
Medicare/Medicaid billing experience preferred.
Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, courteous and compassionate demeanor, ability to review large amounts of data for accuracy, and must be organized and detail-oriented.
Additional Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
